THE NAMING OF JESUS
Luke tells us that on the eighth day after Christmas, Mary and Joseph followed the Jewish tradition of circumcising their son and formally giving him his name.  It is wonderful when this feast falls on a Sunday, and we are able to look at its implications.

~ NOTICE~
There will be NO Prayer Shawl meeting this month.  Meetings will resume again at 1:00 p.m. at Aline Aubin’s home, on the first Thursday in February.  Thank you.

Christmas Thanks to:

  • The Altar Guild and all those who decorated the church so beautifully
  • Those who donated flowers, gathered greenery and bought poinsettias
  • Ülo, Lynne Francis, and the Choir and the trio
  • Ferdinand Bredenholler, our trumpeter on Christmas Eve
  • The Trio who performed on Christmas Eve
  • All those involved in “No Room at the Inn”
  • Our readers, intercessors, chalice bearers, servers, crucifers, acolytes,  greeters and our coffee makers & clean-up crews
  • Those who counted the collections, and those who gave them so much to count!
  • Those who took Christmas communion to our sick and shut-ins.
  • Those who “undecorated” the church and delivered the flowers!
  • Jann, our Office Manage, for all those extra bulletins
  • Joan, our Caretaker, for keeping us so neat and tidy.

Many thanks for your ongoing response to the appeal for the Food Bank.
Our theme for the month of January is “BEANS”.  They are an incredible source of protein, so bring them in dried, canned, boxed or bagged - kidney beans, green beans, yellow beans, pinto beans, broad beans, brown beans, black beans, baked beans, refried beans ……….
