2009 ALTAR GUILD REPORT
The Altar Guild consists of eighteen dedicated people who each week in turn prepare for the sacraments and maintain the beauty of the church. We also prepare the church for baptisms, weddings, funerals and festivals throughout the year. We work in groups of two or three and work seven times a year. Besides our members we have Brenda Battersby who orders all our flowers, Beacher and Bernice Wilson who organize the flower delivery every Sunday and Doug and Veronica Shillitto who see about the undecorating after each festival. We also have Shirley Campbell who does such a great job seeing our linens are kept in first-class condition.
This year we welcomed Donna Shultz and Margaret El-Deiry to our group.
During Lent we had a work party and cleaned both the sacristy and flower room. Many thanks to all who helped. On the Saturday before Palm Sunday we get together with any parishioners who wish to help make crosses to be distributed on Sunday. We have a social get together in November. We start with a corporate communion and then a luncheon. This year we made it a pot luck and it was certainly enjoyed by all.
I would like to thank everyone who gave flowers etc. all year for the beautification of our church. And also to thank all who came out and helped us decorate for the festivals. A special thank you to the young people from the Sunday School who come out. It is so nice to see them getting involved.
This is my last year as coordinator. Priscilla Archer is taking over. Priscilla you have a wonderful group to work with. My sincere thanks to all the Altar Guild for all the help I received this past three years.
Respectfully submitted
