Altar Guild

The members care for the arrangement, set-up, care and cleaning of the things connected with the altar - the chalices and plate, the linens and vestments, as well as looking after the flowers and decorating the church for festivals.

Anglican Church Women (A.C.W.)

The ACW meets on the third Thursday of every month (except July and August) at 1:30 p.m. in the Library. They work to support and promote the total ministry of the church through prayer, practical work and stewardship. More details in the yellow leaflet in the pews.

Bible Study

We are committed to study and reflect upon the scriptures and have a group that meets regularly for this. Check the bulletin for the current course!

Building and Maintenance

We are looking for interested parishioners with some related talents to carry out minor repairs and maintenance and to help advise the church concerning the ongoing upkeep of the church buildings. People to share in these responsibilities will be welcomed.

Choir

If you enjoy singing and would like to be part of the Choir, practices are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the church. New members are always welcome -- men and women.

Coffee Hour Fellowship

Coffee, tea and fellowship are offered in the Lounge immediately following Sunday morning services on the third Sunday of each month after the 8:00 a.m. service and every Sunday after the 10:00 a.m. service.

Flowers

The flowers for the altar are taken after the service each Sunday to the sick and shut-ins. This is a wonderful symbol of the fact that they are still an important part of our eucharistic community.

Garden

We have a beautifully maintained garden around the church, part of which is set apart as a last resting place for the ashes of parishioners and their families.

Library

Books to support and help develop a great variety of aspects of our spiritual life and Christian community may be borrowed from our church library.

Outreach

We do all we can to be part of the church’s outreach to the wider community locally, nationally and internationally. We have an informal partnership with Semiahmoo House Society, a nearby facility for individuals with developmental challenges. We support the Food Bank, the Interchurch Refugee Unit, the Mission to Seafarers, the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, Vancouver School of Theology and many others.

Pastoral Care

We try very hard to support, serve and encourage those members of our parish family in need of pastoral care. There is a network of phone-calls, notes and visits - on the part of both the clergy and the laity. Arrangements are made to take Holy Communion to parish members unable to get to church. We also provide regular opportunities for worship at six seniors’ residences and the Weatherby Pavilion at Peace Arch Hospital.

P.E.P. (Parish Events Planning)

The PEP Group is responsible for the coordination of events-- social, fund-raising, etc.. Conveners are sought for each event and members of the PEP Group are readily available to assist and advise. We are always eager to welcome new members and to share ideas, so if this "peppy" group appeals to you, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Prayer Chain

This is a faithful group of parishioners who intercede, in total confidence, for those in need.

Readers/Intercessors

Lay people are encouraged to assist in reading the Holy Scriptures at worship services and to lead the prayers of the people. If you feel called to this ministry, please speak to the Rector.

Services at the Weatherby Pavilion, Peach Arch Hospital

Services are held the second Sunday of each month, and are led by lay people. We present a short service to the residents; prayers, hymns, and a brief message. Volunteers are always needed and may sing the sheet on the notice board.

Sides people

Sides people welcome and assist parishioners at all church services.

Social Events

We love an excuse for gathering together! Sometimes we do so hoping to raise some additional funds for our ministry - such as our Spring Teas, Garage Sales, Pub Nights and Christmas Bazaars, for example - while other occasions are ways of building and celebrating our inter-generational community.

Study Groups

From time to time, and always during Advent and Lent, we organize a series of evenings to help us move forward in our spiritual journey.

Young People

We have special programs for our babies and toddlers as well as a small, but lively Sunday School. Our Youth Group meets on the first and third Sundays of each month (from September to June) at 6:30 p.m. This group is mainly boys (Grades 7 through 12). A “girls only” group (Grades 5 and up) meets on the second Sunday at
